Lexicography is concerned with the production of monolingual or multilingual dictionaries. Lexicographers work on dictionary projects at universities or publishers, for example. Since the production of dictionaries is a complex and often protracted process, the work is usually undertaken by a team of several people. The duties of a lexicographer also include the planning and design of dictionaries, gathering and evaluating language corpora and preparing dictionary articles for printed or electronic dictionaries.
